Denver trio injured on I-70

(SALINA) – Three people from Denver traveling on I-70 Tuesday afternoon crashed after losing control of their truck when the tread on a rear tire separated. A UHP report said that 63-year old, Jaime Hernandez was traveling westbound at about 3:20pm in a 1977 Ford F-150, when he lost control, overcorrected and rolled on the right shoulder of the highway. The report stated he was wearing a seatbelt but had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was transported to the Sevier Valley Hospital and then airlifted to Salt Lake City in critical condition. His passengers, 39-year old, Maria Martinez and 15-year old, Jaime Martinez, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Sevier Valley Hospital by ambulance. Both were reported to have been wearing seatbelts.
