(MT. PLEASANT) – An 18-year old Wales girl was killed in an ATV accident Saturday night. According to a sheriff’s report, Rachael Hamblin was driving an ATV with McKenzie Sargarent at about 10:30pm east of Mt. Pleasant in the Pleasant Creek Canyon near the Power Station, when she apparently lost control of her four-wheeler and drove off the roadway down a 30-foot hill into the creek. The rapid current carried Hamblin downstream where she was pronounced dead at the scene. The report said that Sargarent was partially trapped under the ATV in the water and was able to free herself. She was taken to the Sanpete Valley Hospital with broken bones and treated and released. Rachael Hamblin is the daughter of Karl and Carrie Hamblin of Wales.
