(MT. PLEASANT) – Several boy scouts put their leadership training skills to the test when they got lost from their scout camp east of Mt. Pleasant over the weekend. Seven scouts from a group of 50 were being trained at Timberline on how to use a GPS system when apparently, the coordinates were not entered correctly, and the boys found themselves two miles from their final target. 13-year old scout, Bradley Mehew from Troop 607 of Richfield, said they decided not to hike out of the area in the dark Friday night. Leaders of the scouts searched for the boys until midnight and decided to continue the search the next morning. They commented that they were proud of the boys and what they learned during the ordeal.
