(WASHINGTON D.C.) – Sen. Bob Bennett praised his Senate colleagues today on confirming Matthew Peterson, a Utah native, to the Federal Election Commission. Bennett said that Peterson is incredibly skilled in federal campaign finance laws and he’s confident that he’ll serve as an outstanding commissioner. Peterson currently serves as Republican chief counsel on the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration. Prior to this assignment, he served as counsel on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on House Administration. Peterson received his bachelor’s degree from BYU and his J.D. from the University of Virginia.
