(HOLDEN) – A 15-year old Arizona boy died Tuesday afternoon on I-15 near Holden after a tire blow-out. Ben Nelson of Chandler, AZ. was traveling about two miles north of Holden at about 5pm in a 2001 Dodge Caravan. His mother was driving the family of seven, when a tire popped, sending the van into a sideway skid, according to UHP Troopers. The vehicle spun off the road and rolled onto the driver’s side. The teen was partially ejected through the driver’s side window, even though he was wearing a safety belt. He died at the scene. Four other children and the two parents, all wearing safety belts, were taken to the Fillmore Community Medical Center for injuries. Troopers said the family’s destination was not clear.
