(Manti) Tomorrow (Tuesday) is primary election day in Utah, but for Sanpete residents it means more than narrowing the candidate list. The South Sanpete School District has proposed bonding for thirty million dollars to build new schools in the area, and residents will get the chance to decide the issue at the polls. The district has spent the last few months trying to educate the public about the need for new buildings, and also trying to calm fears of increasing taxes. The main arguments are that the money will need to be spent one way or the other and that with the districts current debt about to be paid off, the new projects will be paid for without raising tax rates. A slide show presentation about the proposal can be viewed on our website at www.midutahradio.com.
