(RICHFIELD) – Sevier County Deputies have arrested two men in connection with an ATV theft. 52-year old, Jack Simmons of Richfield and 54-year old, Craig Shouten of Monroe were charged with theft of a motor vehicle for stealing a Honda ATV that belonged to Cheryl Hendrickson of Glenwood. A recent sheriff’s report stated that Hendrickson had taken her four-wheeler to Simmons for repairs in 2006. Simmons owned a repair shop and had promised Hendrickson that he would fix her ATV even after she paid him for the repairs. The repairs were never done and Simmons closed his shop. According to the report, Simmons sold the ATV to Shouten for $250 even though Shouten knew the four-wheeler didn’t belong to Simmons. Apparently, the repairs on the machine were still not done and Shouten’s son had gotten in an accident recently. The Sheriff’s Office was able to trace the ATV to its rightful owner. Simmons was arrested Friday at his home and Shouten the following day, also at his residence in Monroe without incident and booked into the Sevier County Jail.
