In National League play Saturday, Colorado trounced the New York Mets, 7-1, and in other interleague action, Cincinnati blanked the New York Yankees, 6-0, the Chicago Cubs overpowered the Chicago White Sox, 11-7, St. Louis smacked Boston, 9-3, Cleveland trashed the Los Angeles Dodgers, 7-2 in 11 innings, Tampa Bay edged Houston, 4-3, Atlanta snuck past Seattle, 5-4, Milwaukee outlasted Baltimore, 3-2, Pittsburgh doubled up Toronto, 6-3, Kansas City stymied San Francisco, 5-3, Minnesota smoked Arizona, 6-1, Texas shellacked Washington, 13-3, Florida tripped up Oakland, 6-4, and Detroit handled San Diego, 7-5.
