Nevertheless, after Adrian Beltre’s RBI double in the sixth, the Mariners proceeded to blow out the Braves and win their 26th game of the season. In National League play Friday, the New York Mets trounced Colorado 7-2, and in other interleague action, the Chicago Cubs edged the Chicago White Sox, 4-3, Cincinnati doubled up the New York Yankees, 4-2, the Los Angeles Angels blasted Philadelphia, 7-1, Pittsburgh blanked Toronto, 1-0 in 12 innings, Houston shocked Tampa Bay, 4-3, Washington handled Texas, 4-3 in 14 innings, Baltimore outlasted Milwaukee, 8-5, San Francisco stymied Kansas City, 9-4, Minnesota crushed Arizona, 7-2, St. Louis tripped up Boston, 5-4, San Diego bested Detroit, 6-2, Oakland snuck past Florida, 7-6 in 11 innings, and Cleveland defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, 6-4 in 10 innings.
