(SALINA) – The Salina City Municipal Building Authority held a public hearing last night for the purpose of gaining input on the Blackhawk Arena upgrades and adopting a resolution for funding the expansion. City Councilmember, Kim Robinson, said that no one in attendance opposed the projects and the resolution passed. He said the Building Authority was required to hold a public hearing because the city needs to bond for $2.86-million to complete all the projects. The total cost of construction is over $2.35-million. Robinson said the money spent is well worth it. He said the upgrades will improve bookings as the Blackhawk becomes a better attraction.
