In National League action Wednesday, Cincinnati pasted San Diego, 6-1, and in other interleague play, Boston overpowered Philadelphia, 7-4, Detroit waxed San Francisco, 7-2, Baltimore edged Houston, 2-1 in 10 innings, the New York Yankees blasted San Diego, 8-5, Tampa Bay outlasted the Chicago Cubs, 5-4, Milwaukee tripped up Toronto, 5-4, Atlanta stymied Texas, 5-2, Minnesota decimated Washington, 11-2, the Chicago White Sox torched Pittsburgh, 8-2, Kansas City handled St. Louis, 3-2, Arizona shellacked Oakland, 11-1, Florida trashed Seattle, 8-3, and the New York Mets snuck past the Los Angeles Angles, 5-4 in 10 innings.
