Marlins Sink Mariners in Seattle

SEATTLE-Andrew Miller scattered one run and six hits over seven innings of work as the Florida Marlins overpowered the Seattle Mariners, 6-1 Monday in interleague play at Safeco Field. Luis Gonzalez amassed two RBI for the Marlins, while Florida rebounded after losing two of three games to Tampa Bay over the weekend. Carlos Silva incurred his eighth loss of the season for Mariners and was ejected in the fifth inning while arguing an umpire’s decision. In National League action Monday, Atlanta torched Colorado, 7-1, while in other interleague action, Philadelphia shellacked Boston, 8-2, San Francisco surged past Detroit, 8-6, and the New York Mets gashed the Los Angeles Angels, 9-6.
